On LOADSTAR 128 #12 we published LOADSTAR 128 LIBRARY, a database of
all of the programs ever published on LOADSTAR 128. It tells you which
issue any program is on, who the author is, and gives a general description
of the program. It also allows you to search for and selectively print out
this information.
If you have LOADSTAR 128 LIBRARY and LOADSTAR #13 you may have appended
the data for the programs on issue #13 to the data file, using the Appender
in last issue's 128 BRIEFS. However, I made a mistake and listed the
authors in first name last name order in the #13 data when the authors'
names are in last name, first name order in the data file for issues #1
through #12. This means that searching for authors won't work as well as it
should. The first rule of databasing is to be consistent in formatting.
So this issue I've created a totally new data file for all 14 LOADSTAR
128's and I think I've done it right. The file is on this side of the disk
and is called "128 loadstars". To use it with LOADSTAR 128 LIBRARY, simply
run the LIBRARY program from LS 128 #12 and choose "Load" from the menu.
When asked for a filename, insert Side One of LS 128 #14 and enter "128
loadstars" -- without the quotes. The file will load and the database will
be in memory.
To save the database on your library disk (or any disk) just choose
"Save" from the LIBRARY menu and the file will be saved under any name you
choose.
I'm sorry for any inconvenience this has caused. I hope LOADSTAR 128
LIBRARY will be useful for you, especially now that we have published more
than 100 programs for the C-128 on LOADSTAR 128.
